Queer Zinesters Have Lives Too
(CA/US)
|
"Queer Zinesters Have Lives Too is a site dedicated to queer publications, but mostly queer zines and the artists/writers who have the courage and foresight to speak their minds for others to view and discuss with others. These creators are conversation starters and revolutionaries in their own right, whether their voice is adored or abhorred by their readers. In fact, I've come to see zine making as one of the most influential forms of activism and consciousness raising as it mixes words and images into one hell of a collaged message. Also, since I'm such a zine fiend and a bisexual, I've found many queer zines to contain views and approaches to living in regards to sexuality, gender, and even just our daily routines that have inspired me to stretch my limits as an individual, writer, artist, and activist in ways that mainstream publications never did or will." QueerRamblings
(CA/US)
|
"QueerRamblings
is a fabulous monthly publication featuring the creativity of queer
women. I started this magazine because of the abundant talent in our
queer community that often goes unrecognized due to limited amounts
of paper publications that will feature queer-themed creativity. QueerRamblings
is a safe space for all queer women! Promoting awareness. Encouraging
creativity. Instilling pride. Please do send me your work to include
in QueerRamblings. If I include your work, I’ll send you a free
copy. Don’t forget that your work inspires many. Websites are
fabulous, but you can't snuggle up in bed with one. Have QueerRamblings
delivered right to your home every month. Don't forget to send a gift
subscription to someone you love. It comes in a discrete package for
your safety and comfort." Since November 2000.

Quantify
(NY/US) |
"I
am bursting at the seams. Pull a loose thread and I threaten to
unravel." ‘It’s about making distinctions between
the part and the whole. It’s about blurring the lines between
the parts and the whole. It’s about recognizing that a whole
is made up of different parts, and that sometimes a part comes to
represent the whole." "A somewhat mathematical, metaphysical, geometrical, theoretical,
always political trajectory into the exploration of fragmentation
and identity. the yellow peril has shuttled her/him/itself into
space. an online version of the paper zine. as the child & grandchild
of immigrants, i have learned this lesson: some things cannot be
translated, but it's always worth the effort."
